Product Stories
Beautifully seamless.
The body and sleeves of "3D knits" are created without the need for sewing parts together, meaning they don't have shoulder or side seams like traditional knitwear. This design results in a beautiful garment that naturally conforms to every individual's body, regardless of body type. The silhouette gently hugs your figure, offering a flattering look from all angles.
*There are seams on the care label and collar name tag.

Programmers are also modern-day knitters.
A programmer who specializes in knitting data is essential for producing beautiful 3D knitwear. By developing programs that align with the characteristics and design of the yarn, they ensure both comfort and aesthetics. In this sense, programmers are the modern artisans of knit production. By employing these professionals in-house, we have successfully reduced the lead time for prototype development and created a comprehensive environment that allows us to focus on manufacturing without compromise.

Data-driven, fully automated 3D knit.
This could represent the future of apparel manufacturing. Unlike conventional methods that involve producing parts like the torso and sleeves separately, the WHOLEGARMENT®* method allows for the knitting of an entire garment on a single machine. This "3D knit" process is almost fully automated, transforming thread into a finished item with a natural fit that conforms snugly to the body. This is an example of how technology is advancing clothing manufacturing. UNIQLO operates one of the largest WHOLEGARMENT® factories in Tokyo, Japan, and has additional factories with similar capabilities overseas for the mass production of 3D knitwear.
